Equality & Diversity

The Lancashire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (LDAAT) is committed to ensuring that as far as it is practicable, the way we treat our staff and commission services for the public with our providers does not discriminate against individuals or groups on the basis of their age, disability, gender, race, religion / belief or sexual orientation.

LDAAT aims to enlighten its staff about the Government's position with regard to equality and human rights within the healthcare sector. It aims to empower its staff with the knowledge and support that will help to achieve their human rights. We also encourage our staff and those of our providers and partners help to reduce health inequalities within their organisations and community.

What is Equality and Diversity?

Equality is about making sure people are treated fairly and given fair chances. Equality is not about treating everyone in the same way but it recognises that their needs are met in different ways.

Diversity is about valuing individual difference. A diversity approach aims to recognise value and manage difference to enable all employees to contribute and realise their full potential.
