PROJECT COORDINATOR: Fast4wD Project
Based within the Volunteer Centre this post will develop and coordinate the Fast 4wD Project; to recruit, train and support a pool of Recovery Support Volunteers to be deployed in treatment services. The Recovery Support Volunteer role will be to support service users to access volunteering and other opportunities in the community.
You will work in partnership with substance misuse treatment services in the training, deployment and management of recovery support volunteers, and with voluntary and statutory agencies to identify volunteering opportunities in the community that are accessible to substance misuse service users.
We are looking for someone with knowledge and understanding of volunteering, substance misuse issues, with experience of project management and delivering training. You will have the ability to work in partnership with statutory and non-statutory agencies and have excellent communication skills.
This is a full time post – 37 hours per week (Salary NJC SO1 £24,646 ), initially funded (by Dept of Health and Blackburn with Darwen Drug and Alcohol Action Team) until March 31st 2011 with provisional agreement to run project until March 2013 subject to availability of funding following government spending review.
