LDAAT's award-winning OD999 Campaign
OD999 is a campaign aimed at service users. It gives them practical and realistic advice on what to do if somebody overdoses and how to contact emergency services without worrying about the police.
The North West has one of the highest overdose rates in the UK and LDAAT service users said they wanted more information on how to combat this problem.
For many, the fear of what may happen if the police become involved was too great so the OD999 campaign was designed by recovering service users, with this in mind.
Posters, leaflets and information cards have been designed to get the message across to this vulnerable and hard-to-reach audience. The info cards are printed with perforations so people can use them as roaches and keep them in their pockets or bag. The information is also being distributed through doctors surgeries, A&E departments, night shelters, hostels and soup kitchens.
Service users can also taking part in overdose training so they can save a friend's life.
