Overdose Information

Taking large amounts of drugs, mixing drugs or combining drugs with alcohol, increases the risk of you harming yourself  as you don't how your body will react to different substances.

You can overdose on any drug, even alcohol. If you pass out or vomit after drinking you have overdosed on drink. That's why it's important to know what to do if somebody becomes ill after drinking or using drugs, especially if they have lost consciousness.

What to do in the event of an overdose

  • Don't panic
  • Lie the person on the floor
  • Call an ambulance, dial 999
  • Do not leave the person on their own unless you have to get help yourself. If you do not have to leave them, make sure they cannot roll over onto their back.
  • If you can, tell the emergency services what they have taken. This could save their life. Act fast, save a life.
